Comfortable fit

Based on the size of your hand, you want a glove that is not wobbly or falls off easily. A new glove that is a bit tight would be a better choose. The glove will loosen up during the breakin and use.

If your fingers are short and do not reach 1/2 the way into the finger slots, you want to go down in size.

Position Specific

As players advance in age and are playing in more advanced levels of competition, the size of the glove or mitt will vary, based on the position played.

Individual players will pick a glove size that fit their defensive style.

For example, a shortstop that has range, good hands and have an above average arm may want a smaller infielder glove (11.25 – 11.50″). Third baseman traditionally wear a glove between 11.75″ to 12″.
