Custom Baseball Glove Buying Guide: Options, Prices and What Matters

A custom baseball glove lets you choose the pattern, colors, web and personal details instead of settling for whatever is on the wall at a store. Before you start building, it helps to know which choices affect how the glove plays and which ones only change how it looks.

What you choose on a custom glove

  • Position and pattern: this decides the size and pocket. Start here, because everything else follows from it.
  • Web: open webs let dirt fall through and help infielders see the ball. Closed webs help pitchers hide their grip.
  • Leather and colors: palm, back, fingers, binding, welt, laces and logo can usually be set separately.
  • Personalization: a name or number makes the glove easy to identify and adds to its value as a gift.

What a custom glove costs

Custom gloves cover a wide range. These are prices listed by each maker in November 2026 and may change.

GloveListed price
Rawlings Heart of the Hide custom$399.99
Wilson A2000 custom$399.95
Buckler Baseball custom line$199.97 to $379.97
9Positions custom glove$199, with embroidery and free U.S. shipping

When you compare prices, check what is included. Embroidery and shipping are added costs at some makers.

How long a custom glove takes

A custom glove is built to order, so plan ahead. At 9Positions, custom gloves ship within 4 to 6 weeks. If you are buying for a date, such as a season opener or Christmas, order early. See our shipping page for details.

Custom softball gloves

The process is the same for softball: pick the position and size, then choose your web and colors. Softball gloves need a pocket that fits the bigger ball, so make sure you choose the softball option when you build. Our builder lets you choose baseball or softball as your first step.

See it before it is made

The biggest risk with a custom glove is not liking the finished look. A 3D builder removes most of that risk. In the 9Positions designer you can rotate the glove and watch each color change as you choose it, before you pay.
